End of the Tail

What do you do when you lose your beloved dog? Our more-than-human companions are just as important as our human loved ones. Muchen Wang honors the life and love of her dog 雪粒 Xueli through paintings, zines, jewelry, and more. Both art and grief put people in touch with their humanity, so what more vital act could there be than celebrating our lost loved ones through art? Crucially, in order to keep in touch with their love for us, we must honor our grief for them. In doing so, we don’t just keep them close in our hearts, we save the parts of ourselves that they loved.
